Ireland vs Zimbabwe: Brendan Taylor retires from international cricket, now remembers Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe’s legendary batsman Brendan Taylor has retired from international cricket. Taylor recently played the last ODI match of his career against Ireland. After losing the ODI series to Ireland, Zimbabwe now has to play a three-match T20 series with Scotland from Wednesday. This will be a great opportunity for Zimbabwe to prepare for the T20 World Cup. Zimbabwe lost the T20I series against Ireland 2-3 while the three-match ODI series was tied 1-1.

The Zimbabwe and Scotland teams last faced in the T20 format during the 2016 ICC World Cup in India, in which Zimbabwe won. Once again the World Cup is near, but Zimbabwe does not have the support of Brendan Taylor
The team is missing Taylor. Zimbabwe captain Craig Irvine himself said, “Brendan Taylor has been a great player. He will definitely be missed in the team. It won’t be so easy to fill their place

Let us tell you that Taylor announced his retirement plans through Instagram. He wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that I announce that the match played on Monday will be my last match for the country. There have been many ups and downs in 17 years. It taught me to always be modest and always reminded me how lucky I am to have been in this place for a long time. My aim was always to put the team in a comfortable position. I hope I can do that.”

Brendan Taylor had the opportunity to become the highest run-scorer in ODIs for Zimbabwe in his last match, but he could not do so. Taylor has 6684 runs to his name in ODIs, while Flower scored 6786 runs in ODIs.

Taylor has played 34 Test matches in addition to 205 ODIs, in which he has scored 2320 runs at an average of 36.25. His best score in this format was 171 runs, while in 45 T20 matches he scored a total of 934 runs for the country with the help of 6 half-centuries.
